In local communities within which nine or more registered Baha’is reside, democratic elections are held annually for a nine-member administrative body called a Local Spiritual Assembly. Once seated, the Assembly strives to function as a body and to to make decisions through consultation. One of its responsibilities is to organize a schedule of Nineteen Day Feasts - these are Bahá’í-only worship services that are the spiritual and social foundation of Bahá’í community life.
