2019 - Teaching Conferences

Bahá’ís and friends from Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Mississippi gather in Jackson, MS, for an African-American Teaching Conference. In addition to reflection, participants took part in neighborhood-level community building activities over the course of a weekend.

Bahá’ís from Montgomery and other Alabama locales, together with other members and friends of The Faith from other states, gather regularly for regional conferences on the application of Bahá’í teachings to society. The African-American Teaching Conference held in Jackson, Mississippi, centered on the station of Black, Indigenous and People of Color as the “pupil of the eye” of humanity. Just as each part of the human body has a role that contributes to overall harmony and wholeness, the diversity of the world’s people are all "one” humanity. National and world peace rely on the just treatment of all and the opportunity of spiritual and material prosperity of all.
